It is with great heartbreak and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Peggy Hilton, born June 25, 1947, to James T. Carter Jr. and Shirley Pageloff.
Our family has faced many challenges, but this is one of the hardest things we have ever had to endure. On October 29, 2025, the Lord called our mother home, freeing her from the pain of cancer and welcoming her into His eternal peace. Waiting to greet her on the other side were her parents, James T. Carter Jr. and Shirley Pageloff, and her twins, Damon and Danielle Elswick.
Peggy leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years, Percy Hilton Jr.; and her children, Tim Elswick (girlfriend Nelly Smith), Gladys (significant other Rod), Percy Hilton III (wife Amy Marie), Tommy (wife Dawn), Sandra Hilton, and Deirdre Goliday. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Tina Turner; grandchildren, Rachael Langston (Quinn), Michael (Latoya), Chelsie Turner, Malakhi, Jenna-Marie, and Jordyn-Grace Hilton; niece, Mary Karver; and a very dear lifelong friend, Sammy Stewart.
Peggy worked at Chrysler in Belvidere for a number of years and National Can in Loves Park for 12 years. After the plant closed, she continued her work as an Inspector at Camcar Textron Syntek Division for over 10 years before retiring. In her free time, Peggy enjoyed shopping on Amazon, tending to her yard, and finding little ways to stay busy. She was one of the strongest women we will ever know — loving, resilient, and full of faith.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of our mother and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
Celebration of life will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Friday, November 7, 2025, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111.
