Paul J. "PJ" Stralow

Paul J. “PJ” Stralow, 77, of Machesney Park passed away June 14, 2022. Born April 18, 1945 in Rockford, the son of William A. and Florence K. (Libowski) Stralow. A graduate of St. Patrick Elementary School, Auburn High School and Rock Valley Business College. A veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War from January 5, 1966 – September 6, 1971. Married for 51 years to Diana Bradford. They married at Holy Family Catholic Church on April 24, 1971. Employed as a village trustee for Machesney Park for 25 years, owner and operator of Action Foto for 20 years and a local real estate agent for different agencies until his mid-50s. A member of the American Legion, Moose Club, Winnebago Democratic Party, PTO at Olson Park Elementary School and St. Bridget Catholic Church. Paul enjoyed photography, military history, classic cars, home improvement projects, classical music and enjoyed listening to Lou on WGN.

Survivors include wife, Diana Stralow; daughters, Heidi (James) Morgan, Amy Stralow; granddaughter, Emma Morgan; numerous cousins; nieces; and nephews. Predeceased by parents; and brother, James Stralow.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2022 in the funeral home and again Wednesday 10:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used in Paul’s name at a later date. Please follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face covering.
