Paul E. Kiefer

Paul Edward Kiefer passed away on June 18, 2024 at Medina Nursing Center in Durand, IL. Paul was born to John and Lillie Kiefer in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on May 8, 1937. He served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957 as a Petty Officer 3rd Class and spent his military career as an engineer on a destroyer warship. Following his service, he held several mechanical positions with various companies before retiring from Amerock Corp. Paul was a life-long Cubs fan and spent much of his free time tinkering on computers and traveling across the States. His favorite place to visit was Yellowstone National Park.

He is survived by his three children, Michael, Kevin, and Paulita; his eight grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Michelle, Rebekah, Paul, Amber, Robyn, and Kiel, many great-grandchildren; and his brother, John.  He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie; and his six siblings, Charles, James, Robert, Joe, Tom, and Shirley.

His family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Hospice and Medina Nursing Center for their outstanding care during his last few months, especially his favorite nurse, Sara.

He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
