Paul Eugene Frawert, 88, of Rockford passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015. Born February 19, 1927 in Freeport to Clinton W. and Mary D. (Dew) Frawert. Graduate of Mt. Morris High School Class of 1945. Attended Rockford College for 3 years. Served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Married Katherine E. (Seiter) Frawley on November 12, 1983; she predeceased him October 22, 2009. Retired after 43-½ years from Sieg Rockford Company, the last 20 years of which he was President and General Manager. Member of the American Legion Post 1207 and VFW Post 9759. Paul was an avid Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed many years at his cottage in Lake Ripley, WI, traveling with Kay, attending big band shows, and a recent trip to Washington, DC with Vets Roll Organization with his brother-in-law and good friend William “Bill” Seiter, Jr. He also continued to attend the Tuesday – Thursday Breakfast Club at Sheri’s, a favorite place that Paul and his wife would frequent. His love for family and friends was evident in the number of visitors he received over the last two months. Memorials may be given to Northern Illinois Hospice or to Court Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include children, Thomas (Janet) Frawley of Rockford, Colleen (Gerald) Gilmore of Rockford, Shawn (Gina) Frawley of Springfield; granddaughters, Katherine Frawley, Jennifer Bridgeland, Randi Frawley, Carey Gilmore; and great grandson, Maurice Montgomery. Predeceased by parents; and wife, Katherine.
The family would like to thank Cain and Barbara from Northern Illinois Hospice, the five special home healthcare givers, Sherry, Lucy, Robin, Heather, and Jay who took such great care of Paul over the last two months. Also a special thank you to Pastor Cal and Theresa from Court Street United Methodist Church.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 in Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 N. Court Street. Memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Friday in the church. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.
