Patricia C. Christiansen

Patricia C. Christiansen, 88, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021. She was born May 9, 1933 in Chicago to Joel and Esther (Sandqvist) Jernberg. She married Harold "Chris" Christiansen September 6, 1952 in Rockford. Patricia was a proud foster parent to 9 children. She was the President of Church Women United in Rockford and volunteered at Swedish American Hospital for 45 years. She was also a long time member of Alpine Lutheran Church. 

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Harold "Chris" Christiansen; sons, Scott (Kathy), Tim (JoAnn) and James (Norene) Christiansen; daughters, Amy (Keith) Prenot and Candy Benjamin; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Jan Anderson; along with many nieces, nephews, neighbors and the Minnesota Lake Gang. Predeceased by her parents. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Private family inurnment will be held in Scandinavian Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Alpine Lutheran Church or Alpine Academy of Rockford, 5001 Forest View Ave., Rockford, IL 61108.
