Nicole L. Dodds

Nicole Lee “Nikki” Martin Dodds, 45, of Rockford, passed away on March 6, 2026. She stayed strong for as long as she could, and is now at peace, reunited with her parents and in the arms of the Lord. Nikki was proud to have earned her welding diploma shortly before her passing, something she worked hard for. She spent over 11 years working in hospice care, where she cared deeply for others. She later drove for FedEx for two years and worked as a deli manager at Greys Foods before deciding to follow her passion and go to welding school. Five years ago, Nikki met Lawrence Vieau, and the two shared a loving and supportive relationship. Nikki enjoyed the little things in life—gardening, welding, shopping, keeping things clean, grilling, painting her nails, trying out makeup and perfumes, and relaxing with her gel pens and coloring. She had a creative spirit and a big heart.

She is survived by her loving partner, Lawrence; her children, Collin and Emmalee; and her nieces and nephews, Carter, Kiera, Landon Dodds, Olivia Bryant, Bethany Lehrmann, Summer, and Rhiannon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Silvia and Joe Martin.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, with a visitation from 5:00 PM until the time of the service.
