Naomi Reynolds Obituary

Naomi Reynolds passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 6, 2025, after a battle with illness. Born August 24, 1940 to William and Sarah Champion in Granite City, later moving to Rockford where she met and married her beloved Carl with whom she shared six children and 61 years together.

Naomi was the glue that held everything together. A pillar of strength that was exemplified by her kindness. She was loved by all who knew her. Always willing to help in any way she could, she touched the lives of many. The only thing as profound as her impact, is that of her departure. Her quick wit and fun loving nature were a light for many in the darkest of times. Even though we may not be able to see her, she will forever be our true north.

Naomi leaves behind five children, Sondra Mayworm (Timothy), Carl D. Reynolds (Karen), Leanna Wienzierl (Paul), Jeanette Drnek (Johnboy), Patricia Reynolds (Juan); 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many “adopted” grandchildren. Naomi is predeceased by her mother; father; 9 siblings; husband, Carl E. Reynolds; son, Randy Reynolds; son-in-law, John Drnek; grandson, Thomas Reynolds; and great-grandson, Echo Reynolds.

Service will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park with a visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Willwood Burial Park.

“May she continue to inspire us:

To enter each day with a generous heart

To serve the call of courage and love

Until we see her beautiful face again

In that land where there is no more separation,

Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,

And where we will never lose her again.”
