Nancy M. Lundquist, 77, of Rockton died Friday, July 21, 2023. Born July 7, 1946, in Rockford, the daughter of Art and Margaret (Lindquist) Jacobson. She graduated from Rockford East High School in 1964, where she had many friends and met her future husband Gary. Nancy was self employed many years providing house cleaning and personal assistance. She also worked for the late Dr. Richard Tuneberg, DDS in Rockford. Nancy’s faith was very important to her and could be seen in her loving and kind personality. She and Gary were both raised at First Evangelical Free Church in Rockford. Nancy participated in the Joint Heirs Sunday School group and sang in the Choir. Upon moving to Rockton, they became members of Hope Evangelical Free Church.
Nancy had many special friends that included a “lunch bunch” from high school, and “the sisters” Bible study group. The family would like to thank her friends for enriching Nancy’s life, praying for us, and supporting our family through the years.
Nancy is survived by her son, Andrew (Andi) Leigh of Rockford; daughter, Amy Sue Wilkins of Monroe, WI; grandchildren, Ethan Wilkins, Gabe Jacobson, Zechariah Leigh and Lily Leigh; sister, Sue (Steve) Franzen of Roscoe; sister, Jill (David) Love of South Bend, IN; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Gary W. Lundquist; and parents, Art and Margaret Jacobson.
Memorial service will be at 4:00pm on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 5656 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL 61073, with visitation beginning at 3:00pm to service time; Pastor Casey Ehlers will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
