Mollie L. Salamone, 72, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020. She was born on September 13, 1947 in Rockford, Illinois to Clifford and Gladys Hobson. Mollie attended Rockford public schools graduating from Auburn High School. After graduating Mollie worked for the state of Illinois as a clerk/stenographer for 37 and a half years and as a secretary to three office managers, all at the Unemployment Office.
Mollie married Joseph Salamone on December 20, 1969. They shared fifty years together. During that time they enjoyed traveling, going to Hawaii, Alaska, and multiple trips to the Caribbean including Aruba. Mollie loved to go to the casino which she and Joe did frequently.
Survivors include her husband, Joe; son, Ronald (Jodi); daughter, Jennifer (Jason Hedrick); grandchildren, Noah Salamone, Arieanne Whaley, and Carissa (Spencer) Morrison; great-grandchildren, Addie, Georgia, and Brenner; sister-in-law, Angela Anderson; niece, Tina Trotter; nephew, Gerald Anderson; great niece and nephew, Ashley and Tyler; brother, Duane Hobson and sister, Susan Jolliff.
Per Mollie's wishes no services with be held. A private family entombment will take place in the Salamone family mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of Love.
