Michael "KP" Kirkpatrick, 60, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 with his family by his side at UW Heart Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He went to Jefferson High School and was the owner/operator of Mike's Trucking, Inc. He enjoyed drag racing and in 2004 he set a new Byron Dragway record for the quarter mile in 7.25 seconds at 194 mph. He later broke this record and many more. He raced a Top Fuel Harley for years, going over 200 mph. He enjoyed drag racing with nitrous Harley top fuel, boating, hanging out with his friends, and spending time with his family and dog, Rudy. He lived life to the fullest in the fast lane.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Jason) Rahn; grandchildren, Alexander Michael Rahn and Cody Joseph Rahn; sisters, Diane Alexander and Sue Lewis; and his dog, Rudy. Predeceased by his parents, Ival and Lillian (Paladino) Kirkpatrick; brother, Steven Kirkpatrick; nephew, Kenny Lewis; and great-nephew, Brandon Lewis.
Special thanks to his family and friends for all the love expressed and his sisters for all the support.
