Michael J. Van Deusen

Michael J. Van Deusen, 69, of Loves Park, passed away after a short illness on February 5, 2026. Born in Rockford, IL, on October 17th, 1956, to his parents, William and Marilyn (Cardani) Van Deusen. He married the love of his life, Sheri (Mattson) Van Deusen, and together they spent 38 wonderful years. Michael retired from the City of Rockford.

Survived by his wife, Sheri VanDeusen; children, Jennifer and Jason VanderWaal; grandchildren, Audrey Young, Alexandra Matheson, Emily, and Nathan VanderWaal; great-grandchild, Rylie Matheson; mother, Marilyn Van Deusen; brother, Mark Van Deusen. Preceded in death by his son, Jason VanderWaal, and his father, William Van Deusen.

Memorial service will be at 12:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel - 4311 N. Mulford Rd. Loves Park, IL, with a memorial visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
