Merril Colborn Obituary

Merril J. Colborn, 83, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on August 16, 2025 at home with his family by his side. He was born on February 2, 1942 in West Dundee, IL to Luther and Evelyn (Freyer) Colborn. He married Dawn Barker on August 3, 1974; he passed away just short of their 51st anniversary.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Colborn; children, Tammy (Tony) Wyatt, Becky Colborn and Dawn (Kenny) Hannick; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Marlene Palm. Predeceased by his parents; son, Shane Colborn; and daughter, Sherry Colborn.

He worked in construction for 31 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

A private family gathering was held.
