Matthew J. Scott

Matthew J. Scott, 39, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019. He was born on October 9, 1979 in Rockford to Jamie Joe Scott and Shirley (Holm) Fairgrieve. Matthew had a passion for Art. He was funny, outgoing and enjoyed spending time with his family. Matthew saved three lives and helped many others as an organ donor. 

Survivors include his mother, Shirley (Paul) Fairgrieve; children, Angelo, Emily, Jadon, Kalel and Dalila Scott; grandchild on the way, Sophia Grace Scott; sister, Sherill (Douglas) Minnick; brother, Croy (Cortney) Fisher; grandparents, Arne and Barbara Holm; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his father, Jamie Joe Scott; paternal grandparents, Ruby and Lewis Scott; maternal grandmother, Virginia Hunt. 

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Rockford VFW, 922 7th St., Rockford, IL 61104. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
