Mary C. Messerschmidt

Mary Messerschmidt, 87, of Rockford, went to be with her Heavenly Father on the January 17, 2019, while at Mercy Health Hospital.  Born July 3, 1931, in Terre Haute, IN. Mary was a devout Christian, prayer warrior, Reverend, and hospital Chaplain. A severe burn victim in her youth, Mary especially felt compelled to witness to the victims in the burn unit. Mary worked for many years in the Loves Park area as a dental receptionist and was an active member of Open Bible Church. 

Mary is survived by her sons, R. Douglas (Marge) Brown of Roscoe, Loren R. (Cheryl) Brown of Rockford, and Gordon R. Brown of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Jamie Brown, Holly (Ryan) Buss and Jill (Jason) Block; great-grandchildren, Dylan Hopper, Tavor Buss, Kyle Block and Kale Buss. 

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Honquest Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL with Reverend Wendall Maynard officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
