Mary E. Dunn

Mary E. Dunn, 55, of Rockford, passed away peacefully Monday, September 16, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home after battling esophageal cancer. She was born on March 6, 1964 in Rockford to Cherrie Geering and Donald J. Sherrard. Mary had four siblings, Richard Sherrard, Lilly Escamillo, Linda Carlson, and Betty Zakosky. She married the love of her life, Calvin Dunn, on March 7, 1980. Mary lived an incredible, impactful life full of love and laughter. She found no greater joy than when she was with family. Mary devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members and friends. She had many close long-time friends and neighbors she loved and considered family. Mary loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to family restaurants, and she had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Mary's interests included family, her two dogs, Candy and Binky, cooking, and playing cards.

Survivors include her husband, Calvin Dunn; children, Joe (Joanne) Daker, April (Adam) Rolando, Daniel (Kelly) Dunn, Crystal (Jesse) Dunn, Justin (Kristine) Dunn; grandchildren, Joseph Daker Jr., Nicolas Rolando, Elizabeth Rolando, Joshua Dunn, Amando Dunn, Alissa Dunn, Tyler Dunn, Hanna Garas, Kadyn Garas, Sofia Dunn, Isabella Aguirre, Vladimiro Aguirre, Elizabeth Sanchez, Jaridan Dunn, Destiny Dunn, Serenity Dunn, Gabriella Carmona and Sophia Carmona. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty.
