Obituary

Mary J. Cruz, 67, of Rockford, IL passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born in Rockford on June 9, 1956, to her parents, Joe Cruz and Alice Torres. She was a graduate of Harlem High School. Mary worked for Swan Hillman Elementary School as a lunch aide and had been retired for 10 years.

Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends at BBQ's or taking her dogs on walks. She truly loved spending time with her best friend, Debbie, and numerous other friends.

Survived by her children, Mandy (Brandon) Dillard of Roscoe, IL and Megan (Donnie) Limberg of Middleton, WI; grandchildren, Desmond and Darian Thammarath, Jaime, Roman and Miguel Ruiz, Zedaia, Jordyn and Brooklyn Dillard, Olivia and Dalton Limberg; sister, Grace (Don) Bailey and Kathy Cruz; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice Cruz; sister, Rita Elizondo; and baby boy, Lincoln.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the American Legion, 14879 Dorr Rd., South Beloit, IL 61080.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
