Marjorie A. Pearson

Marjorie A. Pearson, 97, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 with her family by her side.  She was born in Foley, MN on September 17, 1924 to Adolph and Mary (Serstock) Wager.  Married Kenneth Pearson in May, 1949 and he predeceased her in April, 1975.  Marjorie worked in retail at J.C. Penney for 27 years and was a long-time member of Alpine Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and word find puzzles and when living at Christian Life, she enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends.

She is survived by her daughters, Jan Garkey and Arlene (Mike) Fusco; grandchildren, Sam Garkey, Chris Fusco and Katie (Dan) Groom; great-grandchildren, Addison and Reese Garkey; Austin Groom; and step-great-grandchildren, Cameron, Drew and Evan Groom.  Predeceased by her parents; husband; six siblings and son-in-law, Dave Garkey.

Memorial service is at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 11, 2021 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for a fund to be determined. To view recorded obituary please see blue link below.
