Marilyn K. Carlson

Marilyn K. Carlson, 72, of Rockford, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 13, 2025.  She was born on December 18, 1952 to Beau and Jean Wafford in Alameda, California.  Marilyn grew up in Southern California where she loved to vacation with her family.  As an adult she moved to Rockford where she met the love of her life, Gregory L. Carlson.  They were married on January 14, 1978 and had two sons, Christopher and Aaron.  She and her husband served in ministry in the Rockford area for over 40 years, most recently at Sonlight Church.  Marilyn served as administrator at Sonlight Daycare until retiring in 2012.

She was an excellent wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, having such a zest for life.  Marilyn loved sharing her faith with everyone she could and bringing many to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Greg; son, Aaron; sisters, Cyndi (Rod) Dosier and Lori Branning; best friend (more like a sister), Marlene (Chuck) Cerbasi; and many nieces, nephews and church friends!  She is predeceased by her son, Christopher; parents; and brother, Dennis.
