Marie E. Summers

Marie E. Summers, 80, of Loves Park, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 1, 2026. She was born on November 9, 1945, the daughter of Louis and Velma (Leib) Dusenberry. She graduated from Rock Island High School. On August 5, 1971, she married James C. Summers; they were married for 54 years. Marie worked as a driver for Septran from October 1985 until her retirement in August 2020. Marie was very caring and enjoyed many things in her life. Camping, bowling, her cats, and playing Euchre, but most of all, she loved caring for her family.

Survivors include her husband; son, John (Nicole); grandchildren, Marisa, Kali, and Lianna Summers; and her cats, Simon and Oliver. Predeceased by her parents; brothers, David and Samuel Dusenberry; and sister, Joyce Dusenberry.

Memorial service will be at 5:00 PM on Monday, January 10, 2026, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel – 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, with a memorial visitation from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
