Margaret J. Nesheim

Margaret June Nesheim, 85, a lifelong Rockford resident, passed away August 30, 2021. Born March 11, 1936 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Walter and Hattie (LaTour) Peterson.

Among various jobs throughout her life, Margaret’s first job was with Nelson Knitting in Rockford, but she finished her working career in manufacturing at Honeywell/Pacific Scientific after 20 years.  Margaret enjoyed working with her hands doing various crafting activities, but especially crocheting making hundreds of blankets, scarves, and hats as gifts for family and friends.  She loved and enjoyed the many dogs she owned and rescued through her life considering them her fur babies. 

Margaret was always there for her daughters. She worked hard as a single mother to provide for them. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cherished her memories with them, bowling, playing games, or just visiting. She especially remembered and loved the many summers at the lake.

Margaret is loved and will be missed by her daughters, Deborah (Michael) Cesario, Denise Nesheim; grandchildren, Christopher (Lynn) Cesario, Andrea (Kurt) Bisnette, Lindsay Nagus, Alex Nagus, Ryan (Alondra) Nesheim, Lexie Nesheim; 8 great-grandchildren;  son-in-law, Paul Nagus; sister, Mary Sheley; brother, Gilbert (Sharon) Peterson; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Raggie Seedoff. Preceded in death by daughter, Donna Nagus; sisters, Ruth Schafman, Pauline Pauletto, Betty Eddy, Farol Anderson, Hattie Oberg and Doris Jennings.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 4, 2021 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory–Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with Pastor Dan Herman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service Saturday in the funeral home. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford. In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, Rockford, IL.
