Lyle K. Peters

Lyle K. Peters, 76, of Machesney Park, IL passed away peacefully Saturday, May 1, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born October 4, 1944 in Foreston, IL, the son of Roy and Jeanette (Weidenbacher) Peters. A veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam during the war. Married Caren Spear on June 26, 1964 in Mt. Morris, IL. Their love story was like no other. Worked at Powertrain Rockford, INC for his entire career. Lyle enjoyed fishing, ATV/UTV and was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling and lived his life to the fullest.

Survivors include daughters, Debbie (Mark) O’Dell, Angie Ziemer; grandchildren, Brian (Audra) O’Dell, Brooke (Brandon) DiGiovanni, Zachary Ziemer, Spencer (Heather) Ziemer; sisters, Carol (Emmy) Stees, Betty Zachman; sisters-in-law, Sandy Wetter, Pam (Jerry) Wetter; brother-in-law, Chuck (Anne) Spear, Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and fur grandbabies, Tank, Armor, Blazer, Zeus. Predeceased by parents; wife, Caren; and brother, Larry. The family takes comfort in knowing that Lyle and Caren are reunited and continue their story. What an amazing day for them!
