Lyle Marvin Covert

Lyle Marvin Covert, 85, of Rockton passed away on August 28, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born December 28, 1934 in Rockford, Illinois to Harry and Cora (Shipe) Covert.  He married his high school sweetheart Nilene Burkum on June 9, 1956.  Lyle served in the Army during the Korean war. He was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church, Belvidere, IL.  He retired from Toolcraft as a tool maker in 2000.  Lyle enjoyed fishing, watching the Cubs, snow birding to Texas with his wife and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Nilene (Burkum) Covert; children, Jill Covert of Davis, CA, Todd (Kelly) Covert of Lindenhurst, IL; grandchildren, Isabelle, Grace and Cole Covert; and very special nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; brothers, Harry Jr., Walter, Calvin, Kenneth and sister, Betty.

Due to Covid-19, there will be a private family service at Christ Lutheran Church, 425 Riverside Rd., Belvidere, IL on September 26, 2020.
