Lydia Overton

Lydia Overton, 75, went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born October 11, 1946, in Oneida, Tn, daughter to Odis and Hattie Pearl Phillips. She lived in Rockford for 55 years, married Charles Overton on July 13, 1963.

Survived by daughters, Tammy (Everett Clay), Tonia (Bruce Riley), Tina (Jeff Poff), and Jessica Kirkland; sisters, Nora Ellis, Wanda (Big Bowling), Collie Potter; brother, Charles (Faye Phillips); grandchildren, Jennifer Hall (Chelsea), Bub (Nichole Leach Hall), Kayla Jacobson (Brandon), Amanda (JJ Colyott), Samantha Poff (Garrett); nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; and very special family friends, Marla and Dwayne Lavold, and Bud Wilkinson; also to include to her extended church family Prairie Road Baptist Church. Predeceased by her husband, Chuck Overton; sons, Charles Jr., and Edward Charles; parents; and sisters, Diane, Lorraine, and Mary. A very special thank you to Ruby Eichmeier, Greg Butler, Ken Butler, Lill and Dell Hughes, and Pastor Kirby Miracle. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel with a visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service. Private burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park. In lieu of flowers donations are welcomed.
