Louise passed peacefully in her home after a long health journey, surrounded by the love of her family—those who meant the world to her. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she was the second oldest of five siblings, Jack (Lisa), Jerry. Joe (Liz) and a lifelong friend of her sisters in law, Kathy, and Darlene. She carried a deep love for her family throughout her life.
Louise cherished life’s simple joys: a hot cup of coffee, a good Italian meal, shopping, visiting the Florida Keys with Ed, and the occasional visit to the casino. But most of all, she treasured her time with her beloved husband, Edward. Married in 1972, their love was the kind that grew deeper with every passing year. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising four strong and independent daughters—Louise’s lifelong dream come true.
In the mid-nineties, Louise began working for State Farm, where she remained until 2023, always bringing warmth and dedication to everything she did. Louise loved her grandchildren more than life itself; they were the light of her life, and she was so proud of each one of them.
Louise is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Edward; her daughters Frances (John) Gottfried, Nicole (Keith) Garner, Tiffany Rigsby, and Kimberly (Bradley) Anderson; grandchildren Austin, Phillip (Sydney), Mikey, Justin, Jason, Myle, Eddie, and Robbie; and her great-grandchildren Evanna, Ana, and Felix.
She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Fran, her sister Susie, and her precious granddaughter Angel, along with many dear family members whose memories she held close. We take comfort in knowing she is joyfully reunited with them. We would like to thank her OSF Pulmonology team, Dr. Jacob, and Katie Carlovsky, NP, for many years of dedication to her disease. We could not have gotten through this without Julie, RN, Chris, CNA, and Chaplain Darren, for all of the care and support during this extremely difficult time.
A visitation to honor Louise’s life will be held at Honquest Funeral Home, Loves Park, on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a service conducted by Rev. Darren Loeppky beginning at 2:00 pm. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join us in remembering a remarkable woman whose heart, humor, and devotion will never be forgotten.
