Lawrence "Larry" Lamb Obituary

Larry Lamb, 82, of Loves Park, IL went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2025. Larry passed away peacefully at home, holding the hands of his wife, Fanny, and daughter, Karina. Born January 26, 1943, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL, the only child of Kay and Sara Lamb. Larry attended Welsh School, Roosevelt Junior High, and West High School. Larry married Fanny Lamb, who he had met in Costa Rica.

As a young boy Larry worked at his mother’s grocery store, putting up and marking stock. Besides that job, he would also mow lawns, rake leaves, and shovel snow. As an adult, Larry became a successful entrepreneur. With his Lamb Construction Company, Larry built homes and many multi-family units, including one for the Catholic church. Larry built and managed his apartment buildings to the very end.

From a young age, Larry was always the outdoor type. He would enjoy fishing, sledding, ice-skating, camping, swimming, boat riding, as he said “just being near the water”, and exploring old buildings. Later on his interests would include his Corvettes, flying small planes, riding motorcycles, jet boats, and travel. Larry was a skilled builder and enjoyed creating things.  Lately, Larry enjoyed gardening, coloring, playing cards with Salvatore and Karina, and time spent with family grilling out with Fanny, Karina, Salvatore, Yogi and Otoniel. Special thank you to the family and friends who helped in times of need.

Survived by his wife, Fanny Lamb; children, Jodi Bohren and Karina Scott; grandchild, Casey Nelson; son-in-law, Salvatore J. Giovingo, Jr; sister-in-law, Yogi Caldwell; brother-in-law, Otoniel Delgado; cousins, Patrick Caldwell, Sandy (Mike) Sandvig, Lee Argyle, Cindy (Doug) Stephens, Michele Bowers, Nancy Schwartz, Ronald Remer, Richard (Char) Remer, Patricia (John) Adams, and Pamela (Ro) Nguyen; beloved cats, Shiba and Mimi. Predeceased by his parents, Kay and Sara Lamb; Terry Argyle and Tom Schwartz.
