Larry Lee Bahr, Sr.

Larry L. Bahr Sr, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 13, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with Cancer. He was born October 5, 1940 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of William and Pauline (Gomolisky) Bahr. He married Kathleen (Sutton) on January 15, 1962 in Terre Haute, IN. They loved and cherished their 48 years together until her death in 2010. As a teenager, Larry loved any competitive sport and could be found swimming at North Beach Terre Haute or Boxing at the local Boys club. Larry won the Golden gloves for the state of Indiana before joining the Army at the age of 16. Larry was a born salesman and entrepreneur of Kathy's Furniture for 18 years before retiring. Larry was a faithful member of Berean Baptist Church for 54 years.
 

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his children, Eugene, Diane and Dennis, Laura and Merle, Lisa, Larry Jr. and Tina. Larry will also be fondly remembered by his thirteen grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Rodgers, Aimee and Kevin Montoya, Karla Rodgers, Jason and Emily Nighswonger, Brad Nighswonger, Steven and Nichole Nighswonger, Tyler Schafman, Derek Schafman, Aaron Schafman, Austin and Marilee Carr, Shelby Carr, Larry and LaShonna Bahr, Tiffany Bahr and 21 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, Kathleen (Sutton); son, Michael Rodgers; and sister, Beverly Butterfield.
 

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 11:00 AM until time of service. Private burial in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.
