Kurt W. Reinold

Kurt William Reinold, 80, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 11, 2024. Born on February 2, 1944, in Rockford, IL to his parents, William and Anna Marie (Johnson) Reinold. Kurt graduated from Rockford East High School class of 1962.

On December 15th, 1973, Kurt went on the best blind date imaginable. He met the love of his life, Fran Ywanauskas. They would later marry, and had recently celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 29, 2024.

Kurt worked for Commercial Ceiling and Wall Supply and retired after 25 years of hard work. Kurt was big into race car driving in his younger years. More importantly, he enjoyed attending his sons and grandsons’ school and sports activities. Being with family meant the most to him. He will be dearly missed by so many.

Kurt is survived by his loving wife, Fran Reinold; son, Aaron (Sarah) Reinold; grandchildren, Seth and Sebastian Reinold; grand dog, Gabby. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Marie Reinold; brother, Thomas Reinold; family dog, Lucy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for Kurt at Javon Bea Hospital and Mercy Health Hospice.

A memorial service will be held for Kurt on September 7, 2024, at Second First Church, 318 N. Church St., Rockford, IL 61101 at 2:00 P.M., with a visitation starting at 1:00 P.M. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Kurt to the RVC Foundation – Starlight Theater, 6520 Spring Brook Road, Rockford, IL 61114.
