Kimberly "Kim" Peavy Obituary

Kimberly "Kim" Dawn Peavy, 48, of Rockton, came out on top of her battle of this journey we call life on September 7, 2021. Kim passed peacefully with the love of her life Michael Peavy next to her in their home. Family had surrounded her that day and she knew she was loved by so many.

Kim’s journey and legacy will be carried on by her husband that loved her more than words can explain, Michael Peavy; her children, Rick (Alexis) Maness, Brandon Zimbelman, Dalton Peavy, and Miles Peavy; mother, Linda (Kirby) Johnson and father, Robert L. Maness (Barb Colborn). Kim had 2 siblings, Connie (Roger) Stambaugh and Todd Maness (Krystin Decarlo); 4 step-siblings, Tina Johnson, Kent (Susan) Johnson, Michael (Ginger) Thompson and Kevin (Danielle) Thompson; sister-in-law, Destiny Peavy (Patrick Murphy); many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Kim was greeted by many family members and family pets when she stepped through the gates of heaven.

Kim met her husband Mike 25 years ago and they created an amazing life journey. The family that they made, the house that they built, and the friendships that were had made Kim one of the happiest people you could ever meet. Kim enjoyed all of the family vacations, jamming out to music, dancing and singing to all sorts of music, and she loved her garden. Kim’s proudest moments are all of her children, her wedding day, and all of their family vacations and spending time together. The special things Kim has done for the community are playing Mrs. Claus for many years, getting many volunteer awards, serving on local, state, and district boards for the Lions club, and so many more.

In 2019 Kim received a diagnosis of stage 4 aggressive lung cancer and a new journey began but this did not change her journey of everyday life. Cancer did not deter her from loving life and enjoying all of her friends and family. This did not deter her from going tubing, going to concerts, working on the yard, and even traveling. Kim had the biggest brightest smile and sense of humor and that was present until her very last breath. Kim is our shining light on the darkest of days, she is our butterfly flying through the air, and she is our whisper in the wind. Kim’s journey will continue and her legacy will forever live on through her husband, children and friends.

A special thank you to Lacy Lifka and the Transitions Hospice team for their excellent care and love for Kim and our friends and family.
