Kimberly Stacionis Obituary

Kimberly A. Stacionis, 70, of Machesney Park went to be with the Lord Jesus on January 1, 2022. She was greeted by her beloved sister, Susie, who she missed dearly and they are now rejoicing together in each other’s company. Kim was born on July 7, 1951 in Rockford, the daughter of Melbourne Story and Bernadine (Kimberly) Douglass. Married Richard M. Stacionis on November 29, 1997 in Menominee, WI. She was a member of City First Church where she recently started volunteering as a receptionist, a job she loved. Kim also was employed for several years at Java City at OSF St. Anthony Hospital and Parable Christian Bookstore. Kim enjoyed her daily Starbucks visits with her barista buddies, loved group and personal Bible studies, travel adventures with her family,  Friday date nights with her husband, shopping with her girls, and quality time with her son, David. Kim had a deep love for her grandchildren, Joshua and Lilly and she cherished every moment with them. Kim will forever be remembered for the friends she made, her love for Jesus and spreading the Gospel, the lives she touched, and the big heart she had for people. She will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard M. Stacionis; children, Michael Mattson, Kristina (Todd) Johnson, Eric Mattson, Hannah (Kevin) Day, David Rathke, Timothy Rathke, Heidi Stacionis; grandchildren, Joshua Day and Lilly Day; sister, Paula (Marshall) Story; brother, Brad Douglass, sisters-in-law; Alice Stacionis, Julie Stacionis, and brother-in-law, Dennis Minter. Welcomed in heaven by parents, Bernadine Douglass and Melbourne Story, beloved sister, Susan Minter who predeceased her in 2013; sister-in-law, Sharon Stacionis and brother-in-law, Ted Stacionis.
