Kimberly Ann (Rewerts) Hudson, 66, of Roscoe, IL passed away peacefully with her daughter Emma laying in bed with her listening to Van Morrison music. Kim was born and raised in Sycamore, IL to her parents, Robert and Barbara (Sjostrom) Hudson on January 19, 1958. She was a 1976 graduate of Sycamore High School and went on to Kishwaukee Community College for her associates. She attended Northern Illinois University and obtained her Bachelors then Masters in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Kim was a diabetes educator and dietician at Rockford Health Physicians and moved her way up to manager then director. She was also a manager at Ortho Illinois and manager of medical oncology at Swedish American Cancer Center. Kim retired on April 23, 2024, as a director at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital.
Kim really enjoyed meeting her dear friends for breakfast and spending weekends with her sister, Kris and best friend, Marcia and their dogs. She loved getting her nails done, watching documentaries, stargazing and learning about the galaxies, playing Skip Bo and Mexican Train Dominoes with Emma and her husband, Jake.
Special thanks to Dr. Ahmed Khan for his dedication and compassion throughout her illness (UIC resident at Swedish American Hospital), Dr. TJ Webb (family medicine doctor at Swedish American) and Jane Steffen, APRN (palliative care nurse practitioner at Swedish American) for their care during her final transitions, and Dr. Nameer Mardini for his guidance and friendship (medical oncologist at Swedish American Cancer Center).
Survived by her children, Lindsay Choppie and Emily (Jacob) Rydell; grandchildren, Sophia and SJ Choppie; sisters, Kristine Hudson and Marcia Balli; nieces/nephews, Stephanie Guadagnoli, Rachael Saale and Kyle Hudson; dog, Taz; friend, Cathy Crain. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara Hudson; brother, Scott Hudson; nephew, Kurt Hudson.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Olson Swedish Heritage Park, 7901 Harlem Road, Loves Park, IL 61111, at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers for Kim and the family, gaze at the stars, spend time with your friends, play a game, or laugh as hard and as often as you can.
