Kimberley Diane Combs, 51, born on June 16, 1970 in Rockford, IL, was a woman who made an impact on all she met. Born to Sharron and Charles Maynard, she was the youngest of four kids. Kim died at home on September 17, 2021, surrounded by her family. A faithful member of both New Life Pentecostal Church of Harvard and Firstborn Ministries, she will be missed by all who knew her. Kim has done everything from praise singing, teaching Sunday school and organizing trips to the nursing home to sing. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She will be most remembered for her love and use of the word F.R.O.G., forever rely on God. Kim called Durand, IL home and has lived there with her family for the last 15 years.
She is survived by her husband, Wilburn Combs; children, Missy Combs, Caleb Combs, Shelly Combs (who Kim would say is not her daughter-in-law but just her daughter) and her precious blessing Adalyn Combs. Kim is also survived by her parents, Sharron and Charles Maynard; sister, Loretta Nolan and Rocky Nolan; brother, Wendell Maynard and Robin Maynard and Sharon Maynard. Kim was predeceased by her brother, Robert Maynard. She had many nieces and nephews that she loved. Like she always said, “This is not the end of the story. This is not how my story ends.”
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Firstborn Ministries, 8213 N. Alpine Road, Loves Park. Burial in Durand Township Cemetery, Durand. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in the church.
