Kim S. Orr

Kim S. Orr, 65, of Rockford, peacefully passed away at home on July 18, 2025. She was born on September 20, 1959 to Harold and Margaret (Peg) Orr in Rockford, IL.  

She grew up in New Milford and attended New Milford Grade School and Jefferson High School. She received her CNA Certificate and worked in nursing homes for a time. Later her passion changed to working in the grade schools as a para-professional helping elementary children and assisting the teachers. It was during her time as a para that she met Mat Spencer (the love of her life) who also worked in the Rockford Public School system. They have been together for over 25 years. 

Kim is survived by her life partner, Mat Spencer; sisters-in-law, Elna, Deb, and Chris; nieces, Carrie (Steve), Jodi (Frank), Katy (Facundo), and Sarah (Shawn); nephews, Derek (John) and Todd (Kristina); great-nieces, Grace and Annika; great-nephews, Jake, Elijah, Kinson and Louis.  Kim was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Steven, Craig and Kevin (Cub). 

She will be laid to rest alongside family at Olin Cemetery in lowa.
