It is with a sad heart that the family of Kim Kretsinger announces his passing on March 30 at the age of 78.
Kim was a kind and gentle man and a good friend to many people.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Judy, his daughter, Cheri, and his family: Kevin and Michael Sors, Bonnie and Harold Watson, Wendy and Dallas Turner, Kieth and Amy Watson, Carrie and Drew Robinson and girls, Kurt and Cathy Sanford, Robin and Kay Fritsch, Dave and Kris Alter, Don and Carrie Wallin, Bonnie and Alicia Wallin, Bobbi Zopp, Nancy and Bob Lewis, Tami Lewis and Jennifer Lewis and Rob and Maribel Lewis and their children
Kim is the son of Bob & Lucille Kretsinger and grew up in Loves Park, IL, graduating from Harlem High School in 1965. He attended Rock Valley College until he entered the Air Force, serving 4 years (1967–1971) in the Philippines, Vietnam & Florida. For 48 years, he worked at Bergners (Carson, Pirie Scott & Co.), retiring in 2014.
Kim is a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he was confirmed, married, and raised his daughter, and continues serving on the council and a number of committees.
Through all those years, he loved to fish, golf, and travel.
Kim will be deeply missed, but will continue to live in the hearts of his family and friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church, 343 Grand Ave, L.P. 61111, at 11:00 AM, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM until the time of service. The burial will be private.
