Kenneth Marshall Obituary

Kenneth "Kenny" L. Marshall, 70, of Rockford passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer with his wife Sherri by his side on Saturday, July 26, 2025.  He was born in Olmstead, IL on April 19, 1955 to Detroy and Mary (Liza) Marshall, Sr.

Kenny and Sherri were married Friday, July 11, 2025. Sabrina Stoltz (a very close and loving friend) officiated the ceremony.  Kenny accepted the Lord into his life and was baptized in his brother Detroy, Jr's backyard swimming pool surrounded by family on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Kenny attended Meridian High School in Mounds, IL. He was a truck driver for 25+ years.  He loved to spend time with his dogs and enjoyed playing his numerous guitars. Kenny also enjoyed grilling for hours and hours. (A little family joke).  He loved cars and took immaculate care of the different ones he had.  He loved spending time with family and friends. His nieces and nephews always looked forward to seeing Uncle Kenny coming around and he always wanted to be part of the fun and acting like a big kid himself. Some would say Kenny liked talking on the phone and catching up with family. Most times you would call him and he would say, "Hold on, I'm talking to someone, let me call you back". Kenny had a zest for life and will be truly missed.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Sherri Fowler-Marshall; children, Demeshia Henderson, Joshua (Cassie Panozzo) Ramirez, Savannah (Damon) Ferguson, Doug (Sarah) Dean, Megan (Katie) Dean, Josh Fowler and Brandon (Maddy) Fowler; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandkids; sisters, Pauline Stokes, Evelyn (Roy) Thomas and Kaye Allen; brothers, Detroy (Debbie) Marshall, Jr. and Curtis  Marshall, Sr. (friend Sarita Sawyer); special niece, Jackie (Frank) Lofton; numerous other nephews and nieces who all held a special place in Kenny's heart.  Kenny would often share special memories and stories about each one of them.  Predeceased by father, Detroy Marshall, Sr.; mother, Mary (Liza) Marshall; grandmother, Henrietta Williamson; sisters, Audrey Minor, Ruby World, Betty Roby, Shirley McNeil, Patricia Hayes and Vivian Haggins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park.  In honor of Kenny, the family would like people to wear the colors red and purple if possible.
