As they say, “It takes a Village” and there are so many that had a part in helping Karen through her long illness. In addition to her brother Jeff; sister-in-law, Kathy; and sister, Linda, a special thanks to Melenie Mayer (Dobbs) and Kim and Mike Powder, who held Karen’s hand in the hospital in the beginning of Karen’s downward spiraling health. Kenny Lynch who was always there with Karen through all of her surgeries and many hospital stays, representing family who could not be there and a huge help to her around the house. Ricky Dobbs who was a never-fail voice of reason to Karen when she would not listen or take advice from anyone else and was also a blessing with help around her house. And finally, a special mention to her long-time friend, Lori Smith, who was always there for Karen through thick and thin. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Elvenice (Eve), who was a blessing to the family and to Karen as her most recent caregiver.
