Julie A. Justice, 86, of Rockford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 9th, 2024. She was born in Rockford on February 17th, 1938, to Walter and Arvis Lewis and married Gordon Justice in 1957.
Julie was a legal secretary in her earlier years. She was a long-time member of Court Street Methodist Church, an avid Bingo player, and a slot fan. She was also an election judge for many years and a member of the Sweepers Sweepstakes Club.
Julie was an amazing wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was devoted to her family, championing her children in anything they pursued. She always remembered birthdays whether it was family or friends and was quick to send a card. Julie never met a stranger, everyone she met became a friend for life. She enjoyed a life full of love, joy, and meaning. The impact she made on so many will never be forgotten, she will be missed more than words can express.
The family extends a heartfelt appreciation to all those who cared for her during her illness. A special thank you to Dana Martin for all the kindness and special care throughout her illness, especially during her last days.
Julie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gordon Justice Sr.; children, Beckie (Lonny) Saulsbury, Jodie (John) Gray, Gordon (Marilyn) Justice Jr., Sharon Justice, and Susan (Ortie) Justice-Jones; grandchildren, Jamie (Jen) Musick, Nikki ( Will II) Kerr, Michael Gray, Ashlie (Mikey) Rush, Linzie Justice, Jossilyn (Nicholas) Mladenoff, Cassidy Rae (Emily) Jones and Aidan Jones; great-grandchildren, Kristin, Kenidie, and Kooper Musick, William III, Nicholas, and Maddox Kerr, Lincoln and Rylie Rush, and Temperance Jones; great-great-grandchildren, Oliver Haas and Kason Musick; sister, Merry (Vince Leoni) Richey.
