Judith Ann Hemberger, 67, of Columbia, TN, formerly Machesney Park, IL, passed away Sunday, October 27, after a surgical complication. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April, she fought hard through 13 rounds of chemo, and never wavered in her fight. Her strength and tenacity also shined through her daily life as Judy was an 8-year breast cancer survivor. She was and will continue to be a daily reminder to always keep going and persevere through the hard times.
Judy was a natural-born caretaker; taking on that role at an early age to her siblings. That continued through her adult life as she dedicated over 40 years to geriatric nursing. She fought hard for anyone in need and never hesitated to open up her home. When she did take a moment for herself, she enjoyed planting flowers and laying by the pool or beach.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Chris (Brandy) Prock, Cara (Matt Kasperek) Prock, Emery Prock, Baylee (Tre) Watkins and Tucker DeLaney; significant other, Scott McMahon; the father of her children, Don Prock; special niece, Toni Stephenson; and many other friends and family. Predeceased by her son, Aaron Prock; parents, Herman Drager and Mary Drager; siblings, Jim Drager, Kathleen Thompson and Tim Hall; and niece, Faith Selby.
Funeral service will be at 6:00pm with a visitation from 4:00pm until the time of the service on Thursday, November 7, 2024 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.
