In Loving Memory of a Dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend
Judith (Judy) Lindhe, aged 86, departed this life to be with her Savior on Monday, June 29, 2026. She passed away peacefully in Rockford, Illinois, surrounded by her family, whose love and devotion were a constant throughout her life.
Judy was born and raised in Illinois. She graduated from Rantoul High School in 1956 and subsequently attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois, where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education in 1958. Her commitment to education was reflected in her tenure as Librarian at Summerdale School, a position she held for fifteen years until her retirement in 1986. Throughout her career, Judy touched the lives of many children and colleagues with her dedication and professionalism.
On August 27, 1960, Judy married William (Bill) Lindhe, with whom she shared sixty years of marriage until his passing in 2020. Together, they built a loving home and family. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherishing the time spent with her family and friends. She fostered a welcoming environment for all who entered her home.
Judy enjoyed watching football with friends, enthusiastically supporting her grandsons at their games, and following Nascar. These interests brought her family and friends together, creating cherished memories.
Judy is survived by her son, Douglas (Beth Ann) Lindhe, her many grandchildren and their spouses and her many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Lindhe, her daughter, Pamela Sue, and her parents, Henry and Mary Seward.
Judy will be remembered for her steadfast love, kindness, and dignified spirit. Her legacy endures in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the family in honor of Judy.
A graveside service will be Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford, IL, where Judy will be laid to rest by her husband, William Lindhe.
