Joyce A. Erickson, who we all knew as Bunny, unexpectedly passed in her sleep on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the age of 74, after fighting a short illness. She was born on June 23, 1950 in Beloit, Wisconsin. She attended Hononegah High school in Rockton, Illinois and spent most of her life in Roscoe. She went on to having a family and marrying her beloved husband, Gerald Erickson. She retired from Ecolab in 2005, where she met a lot of friends. She enjoyed caring for her lawn and pets, walking barefoot in the grass, visiting with family and friends, cooking, traveling, solving word search puzzles, and shopping.
We all remember her intoxicating laugh, her smile, her positivity, and her sharp sense of humor. She was a strong and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She will be greatly missed by her survivors, daughter, Mary (Mark) Ennis; sisters, Sandra Strobach and Kathy Petersen; brothers, Edward Swartout and Allen Swartout; grandchildren, April Carlson, Holly Carlson, Michael Carlson and Jonathon Carlson; numerous great-grandchildren; best friend, Sandra Mullen; and her beloved dog, Harley. Predeceased by her husband, Gerald Erickson; her sons, Thomas Angotti and Brian Erickson; parents, Glen and Agnes Swartout; and brother, Gary Swartout.
A Celebration of Life will be planned in the summer. To be informed of the details of this upcoming event, please email c.aprilm@ymail.com.
