Joyce Elaine Johnson

Joyce Elaine Johnson, 94, of Rockford passed away March 20, 2021. Born April 8, 1926 in Holcomb, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Marlett (LaMonte) Sandell. Married Theodore Johnson. Joyce was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed playing pool and bowling. She also was a talented seamstress having sewn her family clothes and her granddaughter’s prom dresses. Joyce also enjoyed her breakfast outings with her friends. Her main priority in life was her family whom she loved spending time with.

Survivors include son-in-law, Douglas Peacock; grandchildren, Christy (Toby) Seymour, Kelley (Ryan) Neubert, Aimee Peacock, Bryan (Ashley) Peacock, Trisha Scott, Traci Scott, Andra Nagle; great grandchildren, Landen, Lexie, Abbey, Ella, Douglas, Ava, Aria, Caston, Zuri, Silas; brother, Don (Pat) Sandell; daughter-in-law, Peggy Johnson; and several friends who she will be greatly missed by. Predeceased by parents; husband, Theodore; children, Andrew (Jackie) Scott, Cheryl Peacock, Rory Johnson; and special friend, Don Bodey.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a burial immediately following in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.
