John LaVerne Lundstrom

John LaVerne Lundstrom, 72, of Rockford, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2025. He was born on February 3, 1953, in Rockford, the son of Alfred Lawrence Laverne, June Harriet (Palmer) Lundstrom, step-mom Grace Lundstrom and Betty Lundstrom. John was raised and educated in Rockford, attending Auburn High School.

On December 10, 1976, John married Diane Sue Chamberlain, and she passed away on November 28, 2020.

John worked for Time Screw, Wal-Mart, and Rockford Memorial Hospital, retiring from Rockford Memorial in 2024 after 10 years of service. He enjoyed horseback riding and collecting model cars. Additionally, he was an active member and Deacon at New Life Free Will Baptist Church.

John is survived by his children, Jeanette (Robert) Helton, James (Laura) Lundstrom, John (Jennifer) Lundstrom, and Jamie (Rich) Lundstrom; grandchildren, Eric Lundberg, Tosha Smith, James Lundstrom, Tyler Lundstrom, Jaden Lundstrom, Jaxon Ziass, Beda Lundstrom, Skylee Wiora, and Dominic Wiora; eight great-grandchildren, sister, Judy Ellen Edwards; and brother, Gust Adrian Lunstrom.

Predeceased by his parents; his wife, Diane; his grandchild, Holden Fisher; and his sister, Francis Lundstrom.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Shirland Fire Station, 13086 Mitchell St., Shirland, IL, 61079.
