Jericho Brelynd Porter passed away the morning of September 19, 2022, at the age of 20. Jericho was born in Ruston, Louisiana on August 8, 2002. Jericho lived in Pecatonica, Illinois. Before moving to Illinois, he was a State Champion Wrestler for the Boys and Girls Club in West Monroe, Louisiana. More recently, he worked hard at GFI Metal Treating Inc. and enjoyed skateboarding, composing rap music and videos, hanging with family and friends and playing video games. Jericho was compassionate, confident and well-mannered. He would offer positivity and help to anyone who needed it. He was resilient. He was tough and hard-headed and his twin would describe him as hot-headed but with a heart of gold.
Jericho is survived by his mother, Tamara Matthews; twin brother, Jordan Porter; honorary mom, dad, and siblings, Robbie Wellman, Barb Wellman, Braylin Ottenhausen, Rylan Wellman, Treylen Wellman; brothers, Gary Matthews, Johnathan Colyott, David Porter; sister, Kaila Colyott; nephews, Kaden Matthews, Joseph Dewayne Jarvis, Landin Colyott, Cameron Rodriguez; nieces, Avaya Colyott, Aaliyah Colyott; honorary siblings, Dehlya and Dustin Gradick; pets, Prada and Asia; other survivors, grandfather, Roy Smith, Amanda Colyott, and Riley Ross; and companion, Emily Haug.
Jericho was welcomed home by his father, Bryant Porter; grandmother, Joyce Smith; childhood best friend, Hannah Crenshaw; papaw, Glen Lawson, Sr.; and uncles, Rodney Allbritton and Rex Odom.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Bootie’s Main Tap, 411 Main St., Pecatonica, IL 61063. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be provided to support services and other associated costs [https://gofund.me/be649034].
