Jeanne E. Tengren

Jeanne Lund Tengren, 99, passed away peacefully at her home in Rockford with her daughter by her side on November 19, 2025. She was born to John and Clarice (Gilbertson) Lund in 1926 in Cambridge, WI. She was the oldest of 9 children raised on the family farm. She married Rune Tengren in 1947, and they had 69 wonderful years together before his passing in 2016 at the age of 96.

She is survived by her sisters, Shirley, Ruth, and Donna; son, Steve (Cheryl); daughter, Karen (Jim) Ely; as well as grandchildren, Rya and John Tengren; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Devin, Britney, Jayda, Nyko, Tianna, and Tegan; and great-great-granddaughter, Lennon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Elaine and Carol; brothers, Richard, Stanley and Lowell; and granddaughter, Kara. She was cherished by many other relatives and friends.

She retired from Friel-Erickson Chiropractic Clinic where she worked for many years. She was an active member of Alpine Lutheran Church for over 60 years and loved to golf and bowl. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Jeanne was happiest when spending time with family and friends.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Avenue, Rockford, from 11:00 AM until the time of Jeanne’s memorial service at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alpine Lutheran Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
