Jasmine M. Murphy

Jasmine “Jazz/Jazzy” M. Murphy, 39, of Machesney Park, IL was greeted by Jesus in heaven after a sudden illness on April 5, 2024. Born in Rockford, IL on September 15, 1984, to Michael Dandridge and Genevieve Zimmerman. Jasmine was a 2002 graduate of Christian Life High School. Jasmine married Kyle Murphy on March 17, 2012, in Rockford, IL. They had met earlier in life as teenagers and later they reconnected and together they share 3 children. Jasmine was a homemaker and she took that job very seriously. Caring for her husband and children was the joy of her life. Special thanks to her Uncle Tommy and Aunt Evelyn Meeks who never gave up on Jasmine when so many others did.

Survived by her husband, Kyle Murphy; children, Sienna, Kameron and Elijah Murphy; parents, Michael Dandridge and Genevieve “Gigi” Zimmerman; sisters, Monica (Dan) Causey, Nanette Vega and Gabriel Vega; brother, Bryan–John (Jessica) Malone; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her precious grandmothers, Rita Frank and Margaret Meeks; in-laws, Tim and Julie Murphy.

A funeral service for Jasmine will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at City First Church, 5950 Spring Creek Rd, Rockford, IL 61114, at 6:00 PM with a visitation starting at 3:00 PM until time of service. Service will be officiated by Pastor Mark Taylor and Evelyn Gipson. Cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Murphy family. Any flowers can be sent directly to City First Church.
