James Allen Walker, 89 of Loves Park, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Cederhurst Assisted Living in Woodstock, Illinois. He was born on November 16, 1935, in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late Burlon Flowers. He was raised in Blytheville Arkansas. He married Margaret Lucreta Bunch in 1952.
He spent his career managing a group for Flavor Kist and retired from Medical Equipment Sales. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Machesney Park for 60 years. He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and rarely missed watching their games. He also enjoyed watching the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Chicago Bears. He loved sports and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Jim was known by all, as one that would always " be there" when called upon by both friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Margaret Lucreta Walker; two daughters, Marilyn (Dave) Reitz of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Cindy (Bob) Hulett of Higginsville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jesse (Natasha) Hulett of Waynesville, Missouri, Allen (Lindsey) Hulett of Oak Grove, Missouri, Rebecca (Adam) Reitz of Denver Colorado, Jordyn (Shane) Reitz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren, Abram Hulett and Lanie Hulette; sister, Mary Jane Young of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Honquest Funeral Home - Loves Park Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford rd. Loves Park, IL 61111, at 11:30 A.M. with a visiation starting at 10:30 A.M. until time of service. Private Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park.
