James W. Kuroda

James William Kuroda, 76, of Rockford, passed away January 29, 2023. Born September 15, 1946, in Rockford, IL, son of William and Eleonore (Rewerts) Kuroda. He married Kathleen Mullen. James was a veteran of the United States Army Aviation serving two tours in Vietnam and earning many medals and badges. National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service medal, Air Medal, and two badges for Marksman and Sharpshooter.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; children, James "Jay" Kuroda Jr., Robert (Carrie) Kuroda and Christopher (Tiffany) Kuroda; grandchildren Jules, Jackie, Hailey, Liam, Alex, Abigail and Trinity; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Kuroda; and sister, Linda Kuroda. Predeceased by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Veterans Drop-in Center, 1539 S. 4th St., Rockford, IL 61104.  

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 12, 2023 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 1:00 PM until time of service.
