James “Jim” Richard Brugger passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026. Jim was born on July 7, 1944, in Platteville, WI. He was one of twelve children born to Arthur and Mary Brugger.
Jim was an amazing husband and dad, and an even better Papa. Family was everything to him, and he would do anything for them. An avid Cubs fan his entire life, Jim attended his first game at Wrigley Field in May 2024. In addition, Jim won many trophies and awards as a championship bowler throughout his adult life. Jim had an outstanding work ethic and worked as a machinist for Ingersoll for many years. He was currently employed at Dial Machine in Rockford, IL, and Anna’s Gaming Cafe in Belvidere, IL.
Jim will be greatly missed by his many friends and family, including his loving wife, Mary; his children; his grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL, 61111, from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.
