Jacob “Jake” Schupbach Obituary

Jacob “Jake” Daniel Schupbach of Rockford, IL. went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2024, at the age of 23. Jacob was born to Steven and Romona Schupbach on July 27, 2000 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL.

Jake was a passionate, kind, fun-loving kid, who loved Jesus with all his heart and would do anything and everything for his family and friends. Jake attended East High School. Jake loved spending time with his family and friends doing many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and air-soft events, along with playing games, watching movies, and just hanging around a campfire.

When he was younger he was often found at his older siblings sporting events cheering them on from the stands while eating his Goldfish. Jake played football and swam in middle school. While in high school his favorite activity was playing video games with friends; his favorites included War Thunder and League of Legends. Even though sports were not his main focus in life, he was an incredibly passionate Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. His love of Star Wars often had him referred to as “Bacca” by his friends. He was always exploring new hobbies and activities, whether it was remote controlled airplanes, working on cars, fishing, or Legos, Jake was an adventurous soul looking for his true passion.

Jake loved his nieces and nephews very much; he was a proud, loving uncle. He always knew how to make them smile. All his nieces and nephews loved seeing their uncle Jake and playing with his long beard and curly red hair. Jacob was an amazing son, brother and uncle and will be deeply missed by all his family and his best friends.

Jake is survived by his father, Steven D. Schupbach; siblings, Jennifer (Luke) Berry, Dr. Katie (JP) Dixon, Joshua (Katie) Schupbach, Caleb (Allison) Schupbach; and his nieces and nephews, Mia, Abigail, Owen, Wade, Payton, Elliana, Wyatt and Lucy (to be born). Jacob was preceded in death by his mother, Romona; grandparents, Duane and Doris Schupbach; grandma, Patricia Dill; Uncle Vincent Dill; and nephew, Parker Berry.
