Jack D. Daughtry, 81, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully October 14, 2023. Born in Hoxie, AR on January 15, 1942, to Jesse and Lillian (White) Daughtry. Grew up in Rodeo, CA, moving to Rockford, IL at age 15. Jack was a 1959 West High graduate.
Jack went on to marry Judy Ann DalSanto in December of 1962, in Rockford, IL. Jack started working early on in life, his career started as a tool and die maker apprentice at Atwood Machine. He went on to work at National Lock, then the Chrysler assembly plant where he retired from after 30+ years in March 2001. Jack was a partner at Stateline Auto Parts and owner of Pierpont Auto Parts.
Jack had many different hobbies; when younger he enjoyed scuba diving and archery, but his favorite was riding dirt bikes up North with his two sons. He also enjoyed the yearly family picnics they would have. Jack liked the outdoors and enjoyed doing yard work with his grandkids. He enjoyed staying busy and fixing and building things. Jack had even built a double decker garage for his first house with his own hands. He would not shy away from hard work. He was also an Oakland Raiders fan, but only when they were the Oakland Raiders.
Survived by his wife, Judy Ann Daughtry; children, Michael Daughtry and Theresa (Mark) Paltzer; grandchildren, Nicholas Daughtry and Hannah Daughtry, Wyatt (Daisy) Paltzer and Mitchell Paltzer; brother, Jesse E. (Gail) Daughtry; extended family,Jennifer Lotz-Daughtry. Preceded in death by his son, Mark Daughtry; parents, Jesse Daughtry and Lillian Monroe; step-father, Ronald Monroe.
A visitation for Jack will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 10:00am to 11:00am in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL.
