Ingrid (nee Neteland) Pautsch, age 96, of Rockford, Illinois went home to be with Jesus on July 13, 2024. She was born on August 27, 1927 in Odda, Norway to Christian and Gudrun Neteland. They emigrated to America in 1928 and lived in Chicago, Illinois. Ingrid graduated from Luther Institute in 1945 and from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught elementary school for two and half years in Forest Park, Illinois and Springfield, Illinois.
On July 4, 1949, she was married to Rev. Alfred Pautsch. They had fifty years together before Alf went to be with Jesus on January 1, 2000. Through the ministry years (in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa) she taught Sunday School, helped with the church music, and served as church librarian. In July of 1992 after his retirement, she and her husband moved to Rockford, Illinois. There she served the First Evangelical Free Church as their church librarian for 25 years from 1993-2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her toddler brother Leif (1932); her brother Edward (2006); her son Joel (2013), and her grandson Jason Pautsch (2009). She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Burge (Jim) of Crownsville, MD; son David (Peggy) of Davenport, IA; son Mark (Jeannie) of Woodbury, MN; and daughter Lois (Jon) of Edgewater, MD. She was blessed with 27 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
Ingrid devoted her life to her family and to supporting her husband in ministry. Her family remembers her for her penchant for organization and neatness, her letter writing to them and others, her encouraging words, and her ability to laugh, even at herself. From her youth, she found joy in her Savior Jesus and is now blessed to enjoy his presence.
